The Elements Receives Revolutions Award at Flavor Fest X

The Elements Church was honored with the Revolutions Award at Flavor Fest X in Tampa, Florida on October 9, 2010. The award is presented every year to a church that is influencing the hip hop culture.

Pastor Tommy Kyllonen, aka, Urban D, presented Elements with the award by first showing a video on their 30 foot screen, showing the church at work in services, outreach and gatherings.

“When they said, ‘Let’s watch the video,’ I dug into my seat to see who was being honored. Then I saw our mission statement on that huge screen and my jaw dropped,” said Brother E, pastor of the Elements. “I wasn’t expecting this at all and it really is an honor. It’s an affirmation of what we’re doing and it just pumped up our whole team. Thank you Flavor Fest and the whole crew, you guys are proof that even in urban ministry we can dream big!”

The Elements is an urban church in the Bronx, New York whose mission is to, “Lead the urban culture to Christ by cultivating relationship.” The pastor, Efrain Alicea, aka Brother E, planted the church out of his home in 2008 and has seen lives changed as a result of the ministry.
