“Da Chune Up” reprises the collaborative producer-emcee relationship between Lokey and DIE-REK that’s been reaching people for over ten years.
When asked about their chemistry on this song, Lokey was very candid.
“First of all, this might go down as one of my favourite beats. Add that with the fact that DIE-REK brought bars to a beat that really hits home with me, and you have a great song.”
Paying homage to the legendary emcee Slick Rick, DIE-REK breaks down his personal story of struggles and growth with his trademark flow.
“We all have choices to make in life. Some are good and bad. I think Rek’s verse shows us that instead of just stumbling through life, we have to make intentional choices to impact our future,” shared Lokey.
“Da Chune Up” is the second single off of That Brotha Lokey’s upcoming project Urban Revival.
