Acclaimed Hip Hop Artist Honored in Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album Category

Cross Movement Records is pleased to announce that acclaimed hip hop recording artist The Tonic has received a Grammy nomination in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category for his debut solo project, The Dash. The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will take place Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The Grammy Awards, which celebrate the year’s best and brightest in music as voted on by The Recording Academy’s membership of music professionals, will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT).

As a founding member of acclaimed hip hop group The Cross Movement, The Tonic (a.k.a. John Wells) has toured globally, earned two Grammy nominations, a Stellar Award nomination and two GMA Dove Award nominations. He has been featured by media outlets as diverse as Time Magazine, CCM Magazine, The Source, Vibe Magazine and The Washington Post, and posted some of the highest street week scans in the history of Christian hip hop. The Tonic also serves as president and CEO of Cross Movement Records and burgeoning new media company, Issachar Media.
