The Praying Mantis releases new EP “The Unorthodox Christian”

Hip Hop artist The Praying Mantis has spent years sharing his love for the spoken word recited over inspiring samples and dirty drums. Recognizing the power of the word (The Logos) from an early age led him to examine its origin while experimenting with its dynamic nature.

Mantis resides in the land of Byzantium aka Birmingham U.K, a melting pot of many cultures and the key component to his life’s purpose having provided a firm foundation for his journey.

In a world that continues to demonstrate a spiral of rapid decay, this inner city scholar has a passion to reach people with a message of faith and to share his knowledge of the Creator.

A keen collaborator with like-minded artists, The Praying Mantis was first heard on a project titled Glimmer through the Glacier by Children of the Last Days. With a flare for capturing the listeners attention with well developed rhyme patterns and a charismatic delivery, Mantis began appearing on numerous guest verses and released his debut solo E.P titled Space/Time Continuum in 2005.

Furthering his exploration of faith and continuing to craft his style, 2009 saw the arrival of a full length album called The Rusty Halo Effect which was released on I-Tunes reaching a wider audience.

With a number of projects currently under construction and having joined forces with Change the Tape Records, The Praying Mantis will continue to deliver his trusted brand of rugged hip-hop.

An E.P. titled The Unorthodox Christian is set for release featuring the popular single/video “The Flood“. This E.P. is a lead up to a full length album Treasures from the Warchest that will give fans a heavy dose of true lyricism with purpose.
