The EP features a brand new song titled “Live Forever” that Green and Shad wrote together one afternoon in the studio, as well as a remix of Shad’s “Listen” featuring accompanying vocals by Green. “Most people probably wouldn’t think of me as a fan of hip hop. But truthfully, I love it,” says Green. “I’ve always wanted to sing the hook on a hip hop jam…you know, to be the Mary J. Blige to someone’s Method Man. Shad gave me that chance. He is my favorite rapper. He raps better than most people speak. I’m proud to sing on a track with him.”
The release is a partnership between City and Colour’s label Dine Alone and Shad’s label Black Box.
