UK based alt hip-hop. We love to hear what heads are creating outside of North America. You’ve got to check out this project. It’s not your average vanilla flavoured hip-hop album.
Joel the Custodian has been a main cog in the UK hip-hop scene for over a decade. If you’ve heard the Michaelis Constant name at all… you’re a bit familiar with his music. He was also a contributing member of the DPS (Dead Poets Society) crew that also included DJ Dust of Mars ILL and Rahlo of Black Soil Project.
Get a bit more information on the crew at the Zang Productions website and don’t forget to check out the music video for Bullet Eater.

Jesus loves you.
Michaelis Constant rings a bell from back in the day but can’t remember too good, I was barely into hip-hop again and didn’t know who was who.
Yeah… we covered some of their stuff in the earlier part of last decade.
Here is a track we have on the Free MP3 section.
Michaelis Constant – Lifeblood
Josh, Many thanks for putting this release up here.
The rap group Michaelis Constant disbanded in 2002.
That year I wrote something for Listener’s Whisper Moon, which didn’t ended up on there, but that kick-started the writing and recording of an album called COLLOQUIAL in collaboration with 17 friends.
I also started a narrative rap group called The Extensioners around then, which lived alongside The Custodians for a few years.
The Custodians completed MY ORGANS ARE YOURS [a double e.p.] last spring, but I’m still keen to point people to it.
Right now I’m shooting videos for other musicians, promoting local hip-hop artists [esp. a new wave of ill female vocalists], coaching young rappers and writing a 14th Century rap film.
Shalom in all directions at the same time
Joel
