End of Earth Records (EOE) keeps it moving with their third installment of “To The Ends Of The Earth” compilation series. A collection of material including exclusives and remixes. Some material from artists projects but nevertheless a collective of music meant to spread the EOE brand and share music around the world for a good cause. Proceeds from this as with all of EOE projects go to feed starving children and help free slaves all around the world. Proceeds go to benefit organizations such as Compassion.com, Notforsalecampaign.org, Dalitnetwork.org and Rzim.org. As I’ve said before its not a bad deal considering you can pick up some music while helping out worth-while charities in the process.

Volume 3 features material from artists such as: Green Jade, Motion Plus, Freddie Bruno, Amplified, Optimus Rhyme, various Scribbling Idiots crew members, Jeremiah Bonds, theBREAX, Spoken Nerd, 247, Obstacle, Absent Minded, S.O., APX, Jacob Izrael and Redd Lettaz.

Tony Stone gets production credited for the hottest track on the album by Amplified featuring a name we haven’t heard in a while… Optimus Rhyme (Roldan, formerly of Remnant Militia is Optimus’ brother and the two are now part of a crew named Reformed Elite I think along with Amplified who may also be related?). I remember Optimus from his days around Remnant and his features on albums like Dirt – A War To Restore on the memorable classic “2 Laws”. Man that takes me back!! Remember that joint?

“Who can understand / Jehovah God’s sovereign plan / no one can, not even universe man / it’s more complicated than trying to count all the sand in the land with your bare hands / its also hard to comprehend / how he would send his only Son to die on the cross four our lives / how we are sympathized in His eyes / He died on the cross / He died for the lost / to relieve us from the worldwide spiritual holocaust”

Word up! That was definitely the old school joint right there! Its nice to hear Optimus making a come back and this featured track titled “Open Ya Eyes” produced by Tony Stone was a giant plus for the compilation. The track was also found on a mixtape called ” CyboRg CiRcuitRy” that I downloaded off his myspace page (for a small fee of course, gotta support!). Needless to say, Optimus and Amplified killed this beat and the clean production made way for one amazing track. My favorite off the compilation and worth the price of admission.

I might have jumped ahead of myself but the prelude to the Amp and Optimus track included a “Secret Mix” of Green Jades “GunzDown” track. Secret of course is the remix-engineer here taking production credit on this worth mentioning track.

Freddie Bruno comes correct on “Woes is Funk” with a self produced cut that has a vibe like some old black & white war flick. Big ups to John Wayne! A nice cut with a little funk to get you through the day. Not sure if this is an exclusive or what? Regardless its noteworthy. Just a heads up though… Fred drops the N word in a verse for heads who may want to avoid this cut in case your kiddies are listening along.

theBREAX has a remix too… why not right? NAmeBrand contributes to a little edgier Breax sound on this gritty remix. Those familiar with the crew will catch some insight into their heritage.

Scribbling Idiots make quite a few guest appearances on the compilation including the Theory Hazit production credit on the Motion Plus cut “Broadcasting Life”. Mouf Warren, Cas Metah and Wonder Brown drop some jazzy funk on Fab da Eclectic produced “The Outcome”. Others sporadically found through-out.

Overall there is plenty of tracks to add to your playlists but the album does have its share of pass-over cuts and some really sub par material. As with any compilation album you get a taste of music from a variety of artists and the diversity gives you an opportunity to locate some new names you may not have heard of. It also helps in finding some exclusives and rare material from those names you are familiar with. End of Earth no doubt does its thing gathering material and putting out this series of material for you to consume and if you like your hip-hop raw and underground this ones worth checking out.
