99.5% of you probably had no idea this album was around. That’s okay because you’re on notice now. Pumpkin Foot laced some masterful production for this release and it gets heavy rotation around the Sphere of Hip-Hop office.

4Trinity teamed up with their friends, K-nuff & Butta P of Rhema Soul, Young Joshua, ViceVrsa and producer Mpax to make a free download track for the holidays. Instead of making the typical track, they decided to take a different route and speak about how most people today go out, celebrate, and party, but don’t even know why or what they are celebrating. While the world is looking for some satisfaction, we understand that we found ours in Jesus. The King is here!
Artist: 4 Trinity, Rhema Soul, Young Joshua, ViceVrsa and Mpax Song: The King is Here Album: The King is Here (single) Label: Indie Year: 2011
We’ve got a special treat for you! Paradox & DJ Sean P dropped this exclusive on us to share with ya’ll. If you dig this track then you’ll want to check out the Mending album.
Artist: Paradox and DJ Sean P Song: Not Like That (feat. Sivion) Album: Unreleased Label: Indie Year: 2011
Ultra catchy lead single from the Call It What You Want album. Unfortunately the project never released officially and it’s some of the finest work from L.A. Symphony.
This track is the hotness. Love the gritty feel of the beat and the verses each emcee delivers. If you’re a fan of L.A. Symphony you’ve gotta make sure this album is in your collection. Pick up a CD copy at Sphere of Hip-Hop.
Artist: Flynn Adam Song: Freaky Flow feat. L.A. Symphony Album: In Like Flynn Label: ILLECT Recordings Year: 2004
With a beat from the one and only Beat Rabbi plus scratches from DJ Allstar… this track came together and is one of the most popular tracks we featured on Sphere of Hip-Hop upon release. That flute sample is crazy fresh.
Stu Dent keeps it grimey and street on this one. A definite head nodder from a fresh early release from ILLECT Recordings.
Artist: Stu Dent Song: That’s It Album: Nephilim: Act of God 1 Label: ILLECT Recordings Year: 2004
This classic track from 1999 was a cornerstone single for Solseekers and our scene. Not only did it reach #1 on the MP3.com multi-genre Music chart but it was one of the first independent releases to do so. It also reached #1 on the MP3.com Hip-Hop/Rap charts a handful of times and stayed there for several months. At it’s peak, the song was being downloaded almost 100,000 times a day! For faith based hip-hop this song was the first to really catch on in the broader hip-hop mainstream.
Solseekers went on to record two more projects including their debut album People Watching. People Watching featured a new recording of “Audience of One”.
Look for new music from each of the three emcees featured. JustMe has two solo albums, One Man’s Trash and Before the Twilight, out now on Illect Recordings. Ajax Starglider also has two solo releases out now including Middle Class Artisan and Middle Class Broadcast. Capture is working on a new project/group called Two Man Trio.
Artist: Solseekers Song: Audience of One feat. Ajax Starglider Album: Sphere of Hip-Hop compilation 1 Label: SOHH Year: 1999
Artist: Mars ILL Song: Sphere of Hip-Hop part 1 Album: Raw Material Label: Uprok Records (licensed from Sphere of Hip-Hop Records) Year: 2001
A crowd favorite and anthem for Sphereofhiphop.com, this track launched the group into a full length project. Raw Material is widely regarded as one of the finest debut projects from any underground hip-hop group. Mars ILL has enjoyed longevity experienced by few artists and continue to drop quality releases.
